2018 MEN’S LEAGUE  ***  Rules and Regulations

 

Teams

1.  Teams will consist of six players and at least two designated subs.  Costs shall be $50 per player/sub and $80 for the sponsor’s fee. 

 

2.  All players/subs must be at least 16 years old.

 

3.  Each team will designate one of its regular players to be their captain.

 

4.  There will be two divisions.

 

5.  The season will be split into two halves and each half will consist of approximately seven to nine weeks.  At the end of the first half, the teams will be switched around to form new divisions and all points will be reset to zero.

 

6.  The Playoffs and Team Scramble will be held at the end of the season. 

 

7.  Only paid League members are eligible to play or compete for prizes in Men’s League.

 

7.  If a member wishes to play on a team but does not have one he should submit his name to the Golf Shop where arrangements will be made to get him on a team or make him a regular sub.

 

8.  Non-members or guests cannot be regular team members or be subs or receive points.

 

Scoring

1.  There will be 15 points available each week between a two team match-up.

 

2.  One point will consist of an individual handicap match play competition between each of the members of the teams (six available points total).

 

3.  One point will consist of an individual handicap stroke play competition between each of the members of the teams (six available points total).

 

4.  One point will be a net best ball match in each foursome.  Two teammates net best ball against the other two teammates net best ball.  The low total team score gets the point (three available points total).

 

5.  Any points ending in a tie shall be split.

 

6.  If a league ends up with an odd number of teams, certain teams will have one or more bye nights.  On a bye night, that team will automatically receive the three net best ball team points.  All the players on that team will still play.  An individual on the bye team can earn an additional point for his team if he shoots NET one to three over par, or two points if his NET score is equal to or better than par.  Players on the bye team must play and return a score to earn points.

 

7.  If you do not have an individual opponent on any night, you must play to earn one point.  If your NET score is equal to NET three over par or better than you will earn an additional point.  A player must play and return a score to earn points. 

 

8.  Individuals without a teammate can still compete in the net best ball point competition within the foursome (although with no partner to help).

 

9.  Only your opponent may GIVE you a putt.  No GIMMIES from fellow competitors or teammates.

 

10.  NO MAX SCORES–If you do not finish a hole, your score should be what you most likely would have scored on the hole if you finished.

 

11.  Players may not sub on a team that is playing against their own team on any given league night (their own team is the team they are listed on the roster as a player or sub).

 

Prizes

1.  There will be one low gross and one low net winner each week on each nine.  The winners receive $10 in Golf Shop credit.

 

2.  There will be several special events each week on each nine.  The winners receive $10 in Golf Shop credit.

 

3.  At the end of each half there will be Golf Shop credit awarded to the highest points winning teams in each division.

 

4.  The overall champions and overall runner-ups will also receive credit in the Golf Shop.

 

 

Playoffs

1.  Each half’s team division winners will playoff to determine that half’s overall champion.  Each half’s overall champion will playoff to determine the league champion.

 

2.  The first round of playoffs will start the night of the Team Scramble.  Subsequent playoffs will be scheduled by the teams.

 

3.  Any paid league member may sub in the playoffs AND they must have subbed for the team they are playing for at least twice during the regular season.

 

4.  If two teams tie after 9-holes, the tie shall be split in the following matter:  All players’ net scores on the last six holes shall be added and the low team wins.  If still tied the last 3-holes net scores shall be added; if still tied the last hole’s net scores; if still tied the #1 handicap hole, #2 handicap hole, etc. until the tie is broken.

 

5.  If two teams tie after 9-holes for the Overall Championship only, the tie shall be split in the following matter:  All players will have a sudden-victory playoff starting on a hole to be determined by the committee.  Each player shall play an individual match worth one point (ties shall split the point).  After the first playoff hole, all points will be added and the team with the most points shall be deemed the winner.  If the teams are still tied, the playoff shall continue on another hole determined by the committee, etc., until a winner has been determined.  If darkness does not allow the teams to complete play of a hole, there shall be a chip-off using the same format as described above.  If a chip-off is not possible, then the tie shall be split in accordance to #4 above.
